Q: What are the accommodations in the hunting camp in which I will be staying?
A: There are 4 camps that will sleep anywhere from 2 to 8 hunters depending on the number in your party. Each private camp will have bunk beds, full bath, and kitchen.
 
Q: What will need to bring?
  • Weapon – Depending on hunt – Bow, Muzzleloader, or Gun (Rifles and Shotguns recommended for the gun season)
  • Arrows, Broadheads, and/or Ammunition
  • Orange Hat
  • Camouflage clothing & gloves – be prepared for both warm and cool weather after bow season. 
  • Camouflage bug mask
  • Camouflage rain gear
  • Safety harness – Hunter Safety System recommended - www.huntersafetysystem.com
  • Handheld GPS or Compass
  • Hunting knife
  • Survival/first aid kit
  • Binoculars

Q: What kind of stands will I be hunting in?
A: Our stands are made up of a mixture of tower stands, ladder stands, and ground blinds. Ladder stands are provided with rails and curtains for shooting accuracy as well as concealment.   Bow hunters are encouraged to bring their climbing stands.
Q: Where are the stands located?
A: The stands at Spruill’s Pasture are located around the edges of peanut, soybean, or corn fields as well as on our seven miles of roads through pine thickets and hardwood ridges.  Our deep woods stands are located in some of the most beautiful hardwood swamps on the eastern side of the Roanoke River Basin.
Q: How will I get to my stand?
A: One of our experienced guides will drop you off and pick you up at your stand.  In the event you harvest a deer, black bear, or hog, they will help you track and haul your kill back to camp.   Skinning and cleaning of your deer is provided and cold storage will be available for meat curing. 
Q: Will meals be provided by Spruill’s Pasture Hunting Club?
A: Yes, 2 meals will be provided daily.  One after the morning hunt and another after the evening hunt.
